27/3/2026 Sunshine after the rain

After the horrendous day yesterday, I woke to beautiful blue skies and sunshine so I migrated to the beach for a few hours. Bliss! 

While I was there a minibus rocked up with white ribbons on the front and out of it piled 6 bridesmaids in pale yellow, 6 groomsmen in suits and a bride and groom. They'd come for photographs on the green at the end of the beach. I watched them for a while before returning to my book. When I looked up again I saw the groom sitting on the beach in his shirt and the bride bending down and taking off her dress. Hang about love, put your kit back on you haven’t made it to the reception yet! At least that's what I thought was happening, turns out it was another couple who had come to the beach for a bit of sun and it just so happened the girl was wearing a  white skirt with her bikini underneath it. The bride and groom were out on the rocks having photos taken, not preparing to go swimming in the middle of their wedding. Which was good really.  

They left after a while and I had a little snooze only to be rudely awakened by something licking my foot. I obviously yelped, and turned around to see a dog trotting back to its owner. My yelp was loud enough to startle its owner who checked if everything was ok, and when I explained she apologized, by which time my heart had stopped racing and I had started to laugh uncontrollably. The lady and her dog left really quickly. Weirdos. 

I stayed til 1630 and went to the 4 square to pick up a bag of peas for dinner. Why is it when you only go in for one thing you end up coming out with a large bag full of stuff you don't need? I had serious regrets for not taking my backpack, I've discovered that the bum bag will hold a folded up sarong for the beach so that's all I had with me. The paper bag was somewhat awkward to carry back with the crutches but I got there in the end, picking a few limes off the tree on my way by. 

Morg arrived a few minutes after I got home and we sat and had a brew on the patio before making dinner. Potato wedges and fish in the airfryer with a large helping of peas. I'm impressed with it for making wedges and cooking breaded fish !

We ate it while watching Guardians of the Galaxy, and once we were done Morg and I washed up and he went home. I stayed up a bit longer reading with the cool evening breeze blowing in through the door and the sound of the cicadas in the trees. Another day over, and another day closer to being with my boy.
