I didn't bother to set the alarm last night because it's not required today. I woke up at 1000hrs, lazy old boot! I made a cup of coffee and planned the day. It didn't take long as all I had on was meeting up with Liz and John who landed yesterday for the start of their New Zealand trip.
Before leaving to meet them I unpacked the sturdy one and hung up my clothes as I'm here until Saturday. I then walked down to the main road to catch the bus up to St Helier, I contemplated walking but still too tired and achy for that nonsense, when the bus came, they're very punctual, i went straight to he coffee shop and treated myself to a macadamia and cranberry cookie to go with the coffee and sat outside in the sunshine to drink it. Once I finished I called in the charity shop opposite and picked up a book and took it to the beach to read while I waited for Liz to come on the bus.
They arrived on the 1530 bus and I was so pleased to see them. We sat and chatted on the boardwalk on one of the many seats, which was so lovely for quite a while, before moving to “annabelles” to have a drink.

The catch up continued until 1800hours, when the waiter came over and told us that the table needed to be vacated by1830 as it was reserved. With that we decided we’d go and get some food, and went two doors up to one of Morg and my favourite places. It was packed out but a guy in a suit came out and told us he could squeeze us in at the back, we followed him in and John was stopped by an officious looking chap with a clip board who asked for his name. Turns out it was a private fundraising event for Ukraine. We exited quickly, charity begins at home! We walked back by Annabelles and that was full up so we ended up at The Porch on the corner. The food was delicious, small sharing plates and all cooked fresh, and best of all we could see it being cooked. We ended up staying for a few hours, before Liz and John headed black to the city and I went home. We got the bus, and waited less than 5 minutes which was perfect timing. 4 stops later I was off and they continued on. They pick up their hire car tomorrow to start their trip so i hope the weather holds off for them, as it is currently beautiful!
After my exciting day, catching up and sitting on the beach, I showered and went straight to bed.
Much Love
Mrs Leonard
