Morg is back at work today as it's Monday. After a refreshing shower following a hideous night's sleep, I made up a chilli ready for our dinner tonight. By doing it early the plan was that the flavours would have time to meld together before we were ready to eat it. While I was cooking, Si kept popping into my mind, and whilst I always welcome the thoughts of him, today I felt the loss heavily, so I decided to  walk down to Kohimarama to try and shake the heaviness. Back before the crash I would have run off these feelings and just kept on running until they were gone, not dissimilar to Forest gump!  I didn't swim this morning as it was a low tide and I didn't fancy swimming out so far from shore to get to the deeper water. My brain didn't like the idea of being so far from dry land!

I walked back from Kohimarama to St Helier, not a personal best time wise, in fact far from it, but at least I've completed my self imposed challenge. I stopped for a coffee at the coffee shop and once I finished it headed back down the street to the ocean front. I had taken a book with me and sat on one of the many benches in St Helier overlooking the beach and read for a few hours. Despite the skies being overcast it was still lovely and warm. The tide had come in and there were a few people swimming but that wasn't for me today,  I didn't take my snorkel mask or my swimming brain!

Once I’d finished my book I walked back to the apartment. It's a really nice walk, and at the moment there are a lot of roadworks ongoing, improving the pavements and making them more accessible, although even before the roadworks started, the roads were far better than what we are having to put up with at home!

I had another shower and threw a load of washing in and Morg arrived for dinner. I may or may not have overestimated the portion sizes when I was cooking. It will feed 7 million, and I could hear Si’s voice laughingly saying to me how many are we feeding babes? Over catering is a skill I have mastered over the years, and frankly I'd always prefer to have too much food, than not enough!

Morg enjoyed his dinner, it wasn't a bad effort on my part to be fair, and he had picked up some dessert for us which was rather splendid! After he’d left I cleared away and put a tea towel over the little gap in the lid of the pot to stop the ants getting into the chilli overnight. Little fuckers get everywhere!

The next few weeks are going to be very much in this vein, a bit boring to read about sorry, but relaxing and preparing to come home. Gulp!

Much Love

Mrs Leonard
