I’ve come to the conclusion that Facebook is currently operating purely with the intention of causing chaos and upset in my sad little life. It can do one, I’m going dark.  Another friend and work colleague of Si’s has died, a truly lovely man who has sent me the occasional message since Si died and another of life's good people.

Ray and I had a chat about it as it has brought things back for him too, particularly with Si’s birthday coming up this week. We decided that they are probably together having a drink and laughing until tears roll down their cheeks, like they used to in the EP office.  March is getting off to an absolutely splendid start isn’t it. However Ray did send me a lovely collage of pics taken when we were all in Sydney which made me smile.

Si’s smile is the most beautiful thing.
Si’s smile is the most beautiful thing.

There was some good news: a photo of my precious girl in her little Welsh Outfit for St David’s Day.

After another FaceTime, I hit the beach. It was too windy for sunbathing but fabulous for walking mid calf in the ocean, perfect for blowing away cobwebs and helping clear the brain a bit.

I picked up some stuff for dinner from the little bakery and general store  around the corner and Morg came after work. He’s enjoying the lounge area of my little unit as much as I am!  He’s cut a huge chunk out of his finger, which could definitely do with stitches or at the very least superglue!  He is adamant it’s ok with a plaster. The big flappy bit of skin is protecting the exposed area underneath at the moment, so he’s getting by with the aid of a plaster and duck tape.

We ate our dinner and watched a film that was so funny that we had tears streaming down our cheeks and we’d lost the ability to speak, which currently makes a change. Not a snot bubble in sight.  Huzzah! Wrecking crew I think it was called with Jason mamoa and the guy from guardians of the galaxy, ex wrestler, I’ve forgotten his name.

He didn’t stay late as his week is crazy busy and I think I’m probably far too miserable to be around. I don’t even like being around myself!! I washed up as soon as he’d left as the ant problem in NZ is horrendous, they just appear from nowhere within seconds of a plate being put down... It is so satisfying seeing the horrible little critters floating in the washing up water. I’ve found a few in the bed too so I’m spraying myself with insect repellant just in case they feel peckish in the night.

Erin flies out to Sydney tomorrow, she had to change her flights for obvious reasons as she was due to fly via Doha. Her flight is now from London Heathrow instead of Birmingham, via Singapore, she’s had to change her accommodation etc which is annoying but infinitely preferable to the alternative.

I’ve got a sneaky feeling these next few days will be hard going. I’m going to try and do something every day even if it’s just a walk on the beach and a coffee, or some sunbathing.  I do need to visit the dentist again as I’ve broken another filling, stupid teeth. I’ve sent an email through, and hopefully I can get an appointment for Wednesday.  I’m switching accommodation and as I’ll have a few hours to kill between checking out of Kohimarama Lodge and into the new gaff, I just as well do something useful with the day.

Much Love

Mrs Leonard
