Another quiet day needed and very emotional. It's getting fukin ridiculous now. Morg has checked in a few times bless him and suggested I get an Uber to his for dinner. The sun has been out intermittently and it’s been lovey and warm. I spent a lot of time on the balcony looking out over the city which is really quite pretty from this level.

Before going over to Morgs, I forced myself into the pool and the sauna. The pool was occupied and I decided the only way to get in with any dignity was with a cannon ball. It was a good one. I mean it didn’t get around of applause or anything but I would have scored it an 8.
The couple who were swimming left shortly after my arrival, which I was glad about. They didn’t appear to be much fun and seemed a bit judgy to be honest and no one needs that negativity in their life
The pool is a perfect temperature and I’m glad I booked this apartment now as the pool has been great for recovery. The sauna too has been a godsend, and I’ve spent a good deal of time in it, although it’s not ideal as it leaves a little too much room for thinking.
Morg has messaged his therapist to see if she can fit me in before we fly to Fiji next week. It's no drama. If she can’t really she won’t be able to tell me anything I don’t already know, I’ve got me an Ali. I’ve also got my cards which I have been utilising.
My rough plan was to travel around New Zealand once Morgi has gone back to work in January but I don’t think I can revisit where Si and I went, it’s going to be too hard. So I think instead I’m going to explore new places. The places we’d planned to go together but didn’t have time to get to because he left me.
I’m in the process of plotting a route, working out which islands I can fly on from and which ones I can squeeze in. It’s not as if I’m in a massive rush to get home so I just as well make the most of being in the southern hemisphere. Even if it’s cyclone season.
Just before I ordered my Uber to Morgs, I topped my water bottle up with cold water, and thought it might be an idea to pop some ice cubes in the bottle. Great plan right up to the point the bloody ice cube got stuck in the neck of the bottle and I couldn’t get it out, or jam it down in, leaving me unable to put the stupid lid on. That’s not annoying at all.
I was trying to order the uber as I was walking down the corridor to the lift. Unfortunately the wifi is linked to the room and by the time I got to the lift I’d lost signal. I hoped I’d managed to get the order in but wasn’t so lucky. I sat outside on the wall, and clocked the hotel next door. I searched the local WiFi and sure enough there it was, open WiFi two hours free for the guests. Utilising that I was able to order my uber. Although it had gone up by $5 between the time of me leaving the apartment and getting to the wall outside.
Morg had been shopping for dinner and had cooked up chicken breast with avocado celery salami cheeses carrots and tomatoes, all ready for when I arrived. I love a picky tea. He’d bought me some mixed nuts and cranberries a few days ago, I think I might be allergic because since eating them, my tongue has blistered and swollen up so eating is a little problematic anyway! Also my chest is a bit tight. He suggested it might be an idea to stop eating them. Bright boy my Morg. I’ll see how that works out for me.
Correctly reading my mood he also picked up cookies and chocolate to eat while we watched a film. Clearly we needed a comedy and picked the most recent Bad boys. Ffs theres only a heart attack in the first few minutes of the film closely followed by cpr and paddles. We turned that off quickly and swapped it for oceans 8! It was supposed To be funny and lifting the mood not bringing back my worse nightmare. At least we had chocolate. The wind was really strong and at one point we had to turn up the tv because the windows were rattling so hard. We could see the storm rolling in over the ocean, and the sky and the ocean were shades of eerie green. As Morg is up on top of the cliff he’s pretty exposed to the elements; his house is also pretty old, and shudders with each gust of wind. The benefit of the wind is it blew the rain away and we were able to see every star in the sky, and that is one of the most magical things you can experience in my opinion. They seem so much closer and brighter here, despite the few street lights in St Heliers.
Once the film had finished, Morg drove me home. We were following a truck driving 25mph in a 60 and it was all over the road. Morgan was telling me that the booze bus picked up two of his work mates a few months ago after a few beers on a Friday after work. They had to pay a hefty fine but also their vehicles were fitted with breath testing devices they have to blow in every 10minutes while they’re driving along. They’re responsible for the maintenance of the machine too so it ends up costing them around 5k. I think the breath bag in the car as you drive is a brilliant idea and I can't understand why it’s not taken off here!
The wind wasn’t anywhere near as savage in the city I guess because it’s so built up, but big fat spots of rain came down just as we pulled up outside the apartment. Morg was able to get his tools from the back of the truck and into the cab before the rain soaked all his kit. The most precious bit of kit being his industrial radio.
Slightly better day today, the best bit as always being the end of the day.
Much love
Mrs Leonard
