Another shitty night's sleep, but the sun was up early and I went for a walk along the beach to clear the cobwebs. Which worked to a degree, it also worked up an appetite. By the time I got back all I could think of was scrambled eggs! After a quick shower I threw them in the microwave and got them cooked to perfection while my coffee brewed in the machine. Just as I was about to sit down, Morg rocked up, I waved at him and carried on doing what I was doing. Next thing I knew he was knocking on the door, hands in the air and laughing his head off. I'd forgotten to let him in. There was food on the table waiting to be eaten!!

He’d called down as he'd left his drinking bottle here last night and like me with mine, it feels like he's missing a limb when he hasn't got it with him. Once he'd grabbed it he left and I finished my brekkie. I did a bit of hand washing,  I move into new accommodation next Wednesday and there is a machine in the property so I'm just doing a few essentials today. Morg had offered to do it, but his house mates are moving out today.  One of them, the one he dislikes the most and who doesn't work, decided to take a full basket down to the laundry room and take over the machine. How rude, she's moving out this weekend as well so could have taken it with her. Or better yet done it during the week when she's sat on her arse at home and he's in work. Grrr. I don’t know why I'm getting so annoyed, I don't live there, thank goodness, it just annoyed me on his behalf that he can't wash his work clothes.

I did some more study work for an hour, and then changed into my swimmers, pulled on a beach dress,  packed a bag with my towel, book and bottle of water and went back to Kohi beach for the rest of the day. The beach was empty which amazed me, because it was beautiful weather. I lay in the sun listening to a podcast and to the waves. There was a lovely breeze, keeping me cool but I fancied a swim and spent the next hour in the ocean, not swimming, just floating watching the clouds chase across the sky . It was lovely and clear, the perfect temperature and thankfully Kohi has very little green stuff to step on and freak me out. It's similar I guess to the Gower in colour, the darker sand obviously plays a big part in that compared to the white sand of Australia and the Islands. There were a lot of wind surfers out today as I think  it must have been near perfect conditions for it.

I did briefly wonder if it was something I might be able to do, but then quickly dismissed that ridiculous notion. Mainly because balancing on a bit of fibreglass, remaining upright and controlling a sail thing, on water would probably be way above my skill set . The art of remaining upright is somewhat challenging all on its own, although marginally easier with the new sticks. So I've scratched that idea which then got me to thinking what else do I fancy doing while I'm still here, that is almost within my abilities. That thought process is ongoing. I will of course update you with any decisions I make. One of the ideas involves the delightful Motokorea Island below.

By the time I got out of the ocean, the beach had become a lot busier, but there was still plenty of room for me! The breeze ensured I dried off really quickly and the warm sun on my back was bloody heaven. An ok Saturday.  Si would have enjoyed it as it wasn't too hot and there were plenty of people around for him to watch. Although I know exactly what he would have said about some of the ideas I've had …. They would have involved a certain look at me over the top of his glasses.

At 1600hours I had a phone call from Morg wondering where I was as he was outside my unit. I packed up my stuff and bumbled home. He’d picked up dinner on the way down, and made it while I had a shower.  The sun has made me feel good today, which is great news, and I've decided that floating in the ocean has been hugely beneficial, being weightless is always good!

He also picked up a jar of chunky peanut butter,  jam and a loaf of “kibbled” grain bread so I could make a sandwich, proper comfort food! He knows me so well, good egg that he is, As his work clothes washing still isn't done, we've postponed our plan for Waiheke Island tomorrow until next weekend, which is all good with me. The new people are moving into the house tomorrow as well, and I think he wants to be there when they do.

So that's another day done, slightly boring again but taking me a step closer to my Si.

Much Love

Mrs Leonard
