So today the temperature is hot hot hot, not that I’m complaining at all because it’s just how I like it. That’s because I don’t have to go to work in it or do anything other than park my arse in a chair in the garden for 10 minutes.

Julie and I did a few jobs around the house and the laundry. Jeez wash day comes around quickly!  And there we are, another week gone.

We had a trip to a fish market Julie has heard about and it was an “interesting “ the little shopping centre. Ropey at best,  and not somewhere I’d choose to go alone after dark, or probably in the daytime either if I’m honest. The fish market was impressive and has every fish you could imagine, and more.  We Picked up two huge barramundi for dinner and got out from there quick smart as the smell was becoming overwhelming , and Julie was gagging.

By the time we got home it was time for a dip in the pool and cool down. The temperature had hit 40 degrees and there is not so much as a sniff of a breeze. After a leisurely swim in the cool refreshing pool, where I spent most of the time swimming away from the robotic pool cleaner as I feel it’s trying to eat me. Literally as soon as I put my feet on the floor the same thing is there!

I needed to find a return flight from New Zealand home,  as they frown upon visitors with a one way ticket. I spent hours looking for the right one, specifically because I wanted jarmies! However I worked out the jarmies were going to cost me an extra £2000, and that’s just a ridiculous amount to pay for Jarmies. So I opted for the quickest business Class flight I could find and I feel I have actually found myself a bargain.

I can now enter New Zealand knowing I won’t get deported which is good really.

Next up was to find a place to stay until we fly to Fiji.  Hotels are a no go as I don’t like being trapped in one room. It was depressing to be honest . I’ve managed to  find a one bed apartment in the city centre with a balcony for way cheaper than a hotel. It’s got a private pool and a gym. Not that I’ll be using the gym you understand. Because who needs that shit! But a  pool? oh hell yes

As we fly out on Christmas Day I’ve booked Morgi and myself into the ibis near the airport the night before so we don’t have to battle the traffic in the morning. A nice relaxing meal and few drinks.

Breakfast is actually included so that will kick the holiday off to a grand start. My lounge pass has renewed so we can use that before we fly out too

Julie’s fiancé , Laurie came over tonight and it’s been 8 years since I’ve seen him so that was nice to catch up. We had a really long conversation about Simon which was lovely. He works ridiculous hours  in Fremantle on the beach bins which isn’t pleasant at this time of year as you can imagine. He’s starting as acting supervisor this week which will make him more money and put him on regular office hours instead of shifts which are crippling.

He’s up for work at 0300 so went to bed at 1930 hours. Julie went not long afterwards, I did a few little bits and hit the hay myself.  Lots of tears tonight because as lovely as it was talking about Si it just reinforced that he’s not here with me. I know I’ll always carry him with me but it’s so hard knowing the only time I’ll ever see his face and little smile again is in pictures and videos. And it’s shit. On the upside as it’s the end of the day I am now another day closer to joining him and that’s a really good thing.

Much love

Mrs Leonard
